Chinese President Xi Jinping urged China and Vietnam on Tuesday to oppose the strongest and unilateralism policy during his meeting with Vietnamese President Luong Cuong, during his state visit to Vietnam.
Mr. XI presented his warm congratulations on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the Foundation of the Vietnamese Communist Party (PCV), the 80th anniversary of the Vietnam Foundation and the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South of the Country.
Noting that this year marked the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Sino-Vietnamese diplomatic relations and the year of exchanges between peoples China-Vietnam, Mr. XI indicated that in the last 75 years, Sino-Vietnamese relations had evolved from a traditional friendship characterized by “camaraderie and fraternity” to a community of destiny, thus giving a good example of mutual assistance friendly, solidarity and cooperation between countries.
Finding a new historical starting point, China is ready to work with Vietnam in accordance with global objectives aimed at strengthening strategic communication, improving solidarity and coordination, and uniting their efforts to advance their respective modernization processes, in order to write a new chapter of unity, self-reinforcement, mutual profit and winning-gagnant results and global of the community of Sino-Vietnamese destiny.
Mr. XI called China and Vietnam to respond to external uncertainty by friendly cooperation and socialist forces, and to propel the ship from the China-Vietnam community to sail the right track.
XI said that, politically, the two countries should keep the course firmly, maintain high -level strategic communication, strengthen mutual learning on party and state governance, jointly improve the leadership capacity of the two parties and work together to ensure the regular development of their respective socialist paths.
In terms of security, the two countries should forge a pole of solidarity and take advantage of the improvement in strategic dialogue “3+3” on diplomacy, defense and public security to continue to deepen cooperation in matters of defense and application of the law, said XI.
China supports Vietnam in the preparation of the 14th National Congress of the PCV and in the safeguard of its national sovereignty, its security and its development interests, he added.
On the economic level, the two countries should firmly hold the oars of cooperation, create greater synergy between development strategies, and properly implement the cooperation plan on the synergy of the belt and the road and strategy initiative “two corridors and an economic circle”.
The two parties should deepen multidimensional connectivity in railways, highways and aviation, ensure stable and unhindered industrial chains, widen cooperation in emerging fields such as 5G, artificial intelligence and green development, and strengthen global cooperation between the two countries with new quality productive forces.
With regard to the links between peoples, the two parties should hoist the sail of friendship, make 2025 the year of exchanges between peoples China-Vietnam, implement more projects aimed at promoting “small and beautiful” livelihoods, and making the China-Vietnam friendship resonate in the hearts of the two peoples with exchanges in the fields of culture, tourism, regions, said Xi.
According to Xi, in recent years, the role of the United Nations has been questioned, with the manifest rise of unilateralism and the return of protectionism.
Commercial wars will undermine the international trading system, the stability of the world economic order and the legitimate interests of all countries of the world, in particular developing countries, he said.
As key members of the global south, China and Vietnam should strengthen coordination and cooperation, safeguard the international system with the United Nations in its center and international order based on international law, and assume their responsibilities in promoting the construction of a community of destiny for humanity, said Xi.
Luong Cuong described Xi Jinping’s visit to History Vietnam, noting that Mr. Xi and To Lam, secretary general of the Central Committee of the PCV, had reached a broad consensus on the deepening of bilateral global strategic cooperation, which will considerably strengthen mutual political confidence, will promote bilateral friendship characterized by “camaraderie and fraternity” will provide an important strategic orientation to advance the construction of the Vietnam-China community of destiny.
China has obtained great achievements in its development under the direction of Xi Jinping’s thought on Chinese socialism in the new era, said Luong Cuong. According to him, Vietnam is firmly convinced that China will do the objective of the second centenary, without clashes with China, without clashes a great modern, prosperous, strong, democratic, culturally advanced, harmonious and beautiful socialist country, contributing more to regional and global peace and development.
Luong Cuong said China was an absolute priority in Vietnam’s external relations.
The Party, the State and the Vietnamese people attach great importance to the development of relations with China, adhere firmly to the policy of a single China, resolutely oppose the separatist activities of “Taiwan independence”, support the position of China on questions related to Xinjiang, Xizang and Hong Kong, and oppose the interference China’s internal affairs, he said.
Vietnam is ready to maintain high-level exchanges with China, to strengthen the sharing of experiences in terms of national governance, to raise the level of practical cooperation and to create more strengths in fields such as interconnectivity, advanced technologies and environmental protection, he noted.
Vietnam is also willing to stimulate exchanges between peoples and consolidate public support for bilateral relations, strengthen multilateral coordination and cooperation to increase the international influence of the two countries, and to properly manage disputes and maintain maritime stability, he added.
