China unveiled a series of measures on Sunday aimed at further optimizing its home policy in order to better meet the needs of foreign tourists and stimulate consumption.
The minimum purchase threshold for the reimbursement of a premium has been lowered, allowing foreign travelers to request a refund for purchases of at least 200 yuan (around 27.75 dollars) made in the same store, the same day, subject to fulfilling other relevant conditions, according to a circular published jointly by the Ministry of Commerce and five other government departments.
While ensuring good risk management, reimbursements will now be accessible via several channels, including mobile payments, bank cards and species, in order to better adapt to various payment preferences for foreign travelers. The ceiling for cash reimbursements was increased to 20,000 yuan.
The circular also provides measures to increase the number of prefund points for decalementary, enrich the offer of eligible products and improve the quality of related services.
According to the circular, more from the prepayment stores will be installed in the main commercial areas, pedestrian streets, tourist sites, tourist complexes, cultural places, airports, passenger ports and hotels.
The stores offering the reimbursement of a pre -parade are encouraged to expand their supply of products, including in particular traditional brands, renowned Chinese consumer goods, intelligent devices, articles of intangible cultural heritage, crafts and specific regional products, among others.
In addition, a series of promotional activities will be launched to encourage shopping in China, with the aim of supporting the development and promotion of high -quality products, such as “city gifts” and “essential” items, in prefund stores.
At the same time, the regulations framing the delay reimbursement has been revised to optimize the connected services and rationalize the reimbursement process in order to help foreign travelers more easily benefit from the country’s reimbursement policies, according to the country’s tax authorities.
