China is at the forefront of global Cooperation in AI.

At the summit for action on artificial intelligence (AI) which was held from February 10 to 11 in Paris, China called for international cooperation to respond to the opportunities and challenges of AI development. She pleaded for more in -depth innovation, inclusive mutual benefits and better global governance.

China’s contributions in AI are essential to advance global sustainable development. Through the “Belt and Road” initiative (ICR) and other multilateral efforts supporting capacity building in AI, China federates global efforts around crucial technological advances.

In the most populous province in Pakistan, the Pendjab, China played a key role in the development of processing technological solutions. These innovations have enabled farmers to optimize the use of fertilizers and adopt drone surveillance systems. Such an initiative offers Pakistan a significant opportunity to improve innovative agriculture and constitutes a reproducible model for other regions.

Adaptation to complex technologies is crucial for sustainable growth in developing countries. The force of China lies in its ability to create technological solutions accessible and adapted to local contexts, thus making AI applications more intuitive and better aligned on specific needs. This approach facilitates the use of advanced tools, creating more opportunities for all. The future promises to be promising, in particular with the IA global governance initiative, which is particularly aimed at the participating countries of the ICR. This initiative underlines China’s commitment to supporting world economies, whatever their development stage, thus strengthening its role as a key partner in global technological progress.

These actions illustrate the fundamental principles of international cooperation in AI. By providing sustainable irrigation technologies and intelligent detection to countries like Kenya, China highlights the need to disseminate AI solutions worldwide. These efforts are closely aligned with the objectives of sustainable development, because intelligent agriculture can considerably increase agricultural productivity – a capital issue in the fight against global food insecurity.

Chinese innovations in AI radically transform logistics into Southeast Asia. This dynamic coincides with the boom in the economies of Southeast Asia and their growing interest in Chinese expertise in automation, megadontous and AI. Using AI to optimize supply chains, these countries can reduce costs, thus creating profits for businesses, consumers and local economies.

China also attaches great importance to safety and risk management linked to the development of AI, thus strengthening its reliability in the context of international cooperation. This approach perfectly meets growing demand for human -centered AI solutions. As the former Chinese Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Fu Ying pointed out, at the Summit for Action on AI in Paris, “the figures of the Chinese scientific and technological environment maintain close communication with their international counterparts and largely share the same vision on IA security issues”.

China’s human -centered approach redefined its role in AI global governance. The new generation of AI development plan published in 2017 has focused on the use of AI for social development, particularly in education, health care, environmental protection and public services. The IA global governance initiative, the fruit of this prospective vision, today offers a framework for international cooperation.

The proactive approach of China in terms of AI reflects its commitment to promote socially beneficial applications in an increasingly fragmented world. It also demonstrates a strong desire to alleviate technological risks. China has recommended measures to “prevent the abusive use of AI technologies”, emphasizing responsible development and deployment. This approach aims to align the future cooperation in AI on common objectives.

In addition, China’s expertise in the manufacture of safe and controllable AI systems promotes traceability, a crucial step to guarantee responsibility. These advances demonstrate both theoretical and practical expertise, supported by responsible policies and a commitment to global social progress.

Energy optimization represents another major area of Chinese collaboration in AI, especially in countries like Thailand, where energy transition efforts piloted by AI are gaining momentum. China is committed to providing AI capabilities in support of long -term technological objectives of partner countries. For example, the partnership between Huawei and the Thai ministry of the digital economy and society, illustrates this dynamic, positioning Thailand as a future regional innovation pole. Far from a technological withdrawal, China resolutely promotes the digital autonomy of its partners.

Effective global cooperation in AI requires a balance between challenges and opportunities. The World Conference on IA 2024 in Shanghai highlighted the potential IA impact on employment. The concerted abolition of technical obstacles appeared there as an essential condition for guaranteeing the global southern access to equitable access to AI technologies.

China is implementing platforms dedicated to the transfer and marketing of technologies, as the Shanghai declaration on AI global governance underlines. The country promotes an inclusive approach to the global governance of AI – advocating the free movement of data, promoting technological culture, addressing the risks linked to AI and favoring a world cooperation mechanism placed under the aegis of the UN.

The leadership of China in terms of AI is distinguished by its strong support for the technological needs of developing countries and its efforts to fill the access gap on a global scale. With a national ecosystem promoting industrial progress, research and public services, China extends these international benefits, thus testifying to its commitment to reducing the inequalities linked to AI, to manage risks and to ensure that no country is left behind. China’s approach, which consists in exploiting AI at the service of development, serves as an example for other countries, highlighting the importance of responsible and fair global collaboration to guarantee shared profits.
