Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong ranked among the top ten innovative cities in the world, alongside other cities in the United States, the United Kingdom and Japan, according to an assessment report on innovation in the field of Sciences and technologies published recently.
The report, published on Friday, was compiled by the International Scientific and Technological Information Center of Shenzhen, the Center for Industrial Development and Environmental Governance of the Tsinghua University and the Society for the publishing and analysis of information Elsevier, according to Science and Technology Daily in its Saturday edition.
The report is based on the collaborative development index for education, science and technology and talent, and offers an in -depth assessment of 30 cities around the world. It aims to give an overview of global trends in urban innovation and development.
The first ten innovative cities are Boston, San Francisco, Beijing, London, New York, Los Angeles, Seattle, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Tokyo.
In terms of education, Boston, London and Hong Kong occupy the first three places, while London, Beijing, Shanghai and New York are distinguished by a relatively balanced development, both in terms of basic education and teaching superior.
From the point of view of innovation, San Francisco, Boston and Beijing are the first three cities. The report suggests that strengthening the innovation ecosystem, including improving the economic basis, promoting industry, university and research, strengthening scientific infrastructure and The promotion of inter-regional cooperation is essential for Chinese cities to improve their innovation capacities.
In terms of talent development, five American cities and five Chinese cities are among the first ten. Chinese cities, including Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Shanghai, also display exceptional performance in terms of talent potential, reflecting strong dynamics in the development of talents.
