The two presidents also called to promote the correct historical perspective of the Second World War, to preserve the authority and status of the United Nations and to defend international justice and equity.

After a grandiose welcome ceremony organized for Mr. XI, the two leaders discussed as part of meetings in small groups and then in large groups.

In recent years, Sino-Russian relations have experienced a stable, healthy and high-level development thanks to the joint efforts of both parties, said the Chinese president, welcoming the friendly long-term friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation as distinct characteristics of bilateral relations.

The political confidence between the two countries has been more deeply rooted, practical bonds have been consolidated, exchanges between peoples and local interactions have developed with increased vitality, so have become China-Russia relations in the new era safer in itself, more stable and more resilient, he said.

According to Mr. Xi, history and reality have fully proven that the continuation of development and deepening of Sino-Russian relations is in the logic of the pursuit of friendship between the two peoples of generation in generation, an inevitable choice for both parties to achieve mutual success and to promote their own development and revitalization, and an appeal of the time to preserve equity and international justice and global governance.

Noting that this year marked the 80th anniversary of the victories of the war of resistance of the Chinese people against the Japanese aggression, the Great Patriotic War of the Soviet Union and the World Antifascist War, Mr. Xi declared that 80 years ago, the peoples of China and Russia had made huge sacrifices and won great victories, providing remarkable historical contributions in the world and the cause of human progress.

China will work with Russia to defend together the correct historical perspective of the Second World War, preserving the authority and status of the United Nations, firmly safeguarding the fruits of the victory of the Second World War, resolutely defending the rights and interests of China, Russia and a large number of developing countries and promoting an egalitarian and ordered multipolar world, as well as universally beneficial and universal economic globalization, indicated Mr. XI.

The two heads of state also heard the briefings from the leaders of the departments concerned of the two countries concerning bilateral cooperation in various sectors.

China and Russia must stick to the general way of cooperation and avoid external disturbances in order to consolidate the basics of stable cooperation and ensure a strong dynamic of progression, noted Mr. XI.

The two countries must exploit their resources and the complementary advantages of their industrial systems, as well as widen mutually beneficial cooperation in high quality in fields such as economy, trade, energy, agriculture, aerospace and artificial intelligence, he continued.

China and Russia must take advantage of the synergy between the belt and the road and the Eurasian economic union initiative as a platform to build a high -level connectivity model, said Xi. He added that the two countries should fully exploit the potential of the years of China-Russia culture, strengthen cooperation in education, cinema, tourism, sports and at the local level, and promote a deeply rooted connectivity between peoples.

The two countries must closely coordinate and cooperate within multilateral platforms such as the UN, the Shanghai cooperation organization and the BRICS, unifying the global south, defending real multilateralism and guide the reform of global governance in the right direction, added Mr. XI.

He stressed that China progressed globally in the construction of a strong country and the great cause of national revival through Chinese modernization, and that China had both the determination and confidence necessary to overcome various risks and challenges.

Regardless of the extent of the upheavals of the external environment, China will manage its own business with firmness, insisted Mr. XI. China is ready to cooperate with Russia to assume the specific responsibilities linked to that time, to safeguard the global multilateral trade system, maintain stable and unhindered industrial and undoubtedly contributions to the promotion of development and renewal of the two countries as well as to maintain international equity and justice.

For his part, Mr. Putin warmly praised Mr. Xi’s state visit to Russia and his participation in the celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Soviet Union in the Great Patriotic War. The Russian president stressed the great importance of this visit, which not only injected a strong momentum for the development of Russian-Chinese relations, but also helped to preserve the victorious results of the Second World War.

According to Mr. Putin, Russian-Chinese relations are based on equality and mutual respect, they are not directed against any third party and they are not affected by temporary incidents.

Promoting with determination the development of Russian-Chinese relations and extending mutually beneficial cooperation are the strategic choices of Russia, he said. He added that the Russian party adhered firmly to the policy of a single China and that it had always supported China’s position on Taiwan’s issue.

Russia is willing to maintain close high-level exchanges with China, to strengthen practical cooperation in fields such as trade, investments, energy, agriculture, science and technology, to deepen cultural exchanges and between peoples in the sectors of education, culture, youth or tourism, and to widen the scope of cooperation in the farm.

The taxation of high customs duties is absurd and illegitimate and can only turn against its author, hammered Mr. Putin. According to him, the two parties must strengthen their coordination and cooperation within multilateral frameworks such as the UN, the OCS and the BRICS, support the process in favor of a multipolar world, to oppose unilateralism, to reject the abuse of sanctions, to resist the confrontation of blocks and to defend the common interests of the international community.

Russia and China both made huge sacrifices in the world anti -fascist war, recalled Mr. Putin. He said that under the leadership of the Chinese Communist Party, the Chinese had stuck with courage and had a great victory in the war of resistance against Japanese aggression, thus making major contributions to victory in the Second World War.

During the difficult years of war, Russia and China supported each other and forged a deep friendship, which laid solid foundations for the development of their bilateral relations, continued the Russian president. The two parties must preserve the authority of the United Nations and international law, to promote together the correct historical perspective of the Second World War, defend international equity and justice and collaborate to create a better future for the two countries and for the whole world.

After their discussions, the two heads of state signed a joint declaration on the deepening of the Global Coordination Coordination Partnership for a new era. The two presidents attended the exchange of more than 20 bilateral cooperation documents, covering areas such as international strategic stability, defense of the authority of international law, biosecurity, investment protection, digital economy, quarantine and film cooperation.
