China is a strategic crossroads for international trade, said Olivier Bouché, president of the Compagnie des Courtiers Jurés-Experts Piqueurs de Vins de Paris, and founder of the French International Wine, Wine Bio, and Spirits Awards (FIWA), during ‘a recent interview with Xinhua.
According to him, FIWA has participated in the China International Import Expo (CIIE) for seven consecutive years, presenting the wines and spirits awarded gold and silver medals in its annual competitions.
He explained that FIWA, whose competitions are held every year in Paris, in spring and autumn, is also an institutional platform which organizes the participation of wine producers in professional exhibitions.
For Mr. Bouché, the CIIE is an excellent initiative and constitutes a high-level platform, which allows producers from around the world to come into direct contact with Chinese importers and distributors.
He further pointed out that the impact of the results achieved by the CIIE on global trade and the global economy is growing, especially because it has promoted numerous contracts and projects each year.
Mr. Bouché noted that in recent years, different consumption patterns have evolved and consumers have become more demanding, both in China and around the world.
“In the wine sector, anticipation is at the heart of producers’ concerns,” said Mr. Bouché. According to him, China has become a strategic crossroads for international trade, and it is therefore vital for French companies to participate in the development and dynamism of the proactive opening of the Chinese market and the promotion of a new form of globalization. .
