Chinese President Xi Jinping said on Monday that China is ready to work with Kazakhstan to contribute more to regional and global peace and development thanks to the stability and the positive energy of bilateral links.
Mr. XI made these remarks during his meeting with President Kazakh Kassym-Jomart Tokaïev in Astana, before the second Central China Summit.
Xi stressed that relations between China and Kazakhstan have resisted the test of international changes and have constantly maintained a high level of development. This is due to geographic proximity and longtime friendship between the two peoples, as well as the inevitable choice of the two countries to continue development together, he said.
In recent years, under the joint planning of the two leaders, said Xi, the community of Sino-Kazakhe destiny has become more substantial and richer in content, with tangible and centered results on the people emerging continuously, effectively strengthening the feeling of accomplishment within the two peoples.
China has always considered and developed its relations with Kazakhstan from a strategic and long-term perspective, and is ready to work with Kazakhstan to consolidate the unwavering friendship between the two countries, he said.
Xi stressed that China and Kazakhstan are both at crucial stages of their respective development and revitalization, and that the two countries must work together to advance global cooperation.
First, high -level strategic mutual trust should guide the development of bilateral relations, said Xi, urging the two countries to continue supporting each other on issues involving their fundamental interests and major concerns, promoting the synergy of their development strategies, to support each other in the turbulent international situation, and to be useful partners in their respective development and revitalization.
Second, high quality cooperation as part of the belt and the road should promote the improvement of bilateral cooperation. Efforts should be made to consolidate the forces of traditional cooperation in trade, investment and energy, advance the construction of cross -border rail projects and the modernization of port infrastructure, promote connectivity, high -tech cooperation as well as green and sustainable development, “Xi said.
Third, global security cooperation should be implemented to safeguard the peace and stability of the two countries. This includes the expansion of exchanges in the application of the law and defense, the joint fight against terrorism, separatism and extremism, and the deepening of cooperation in terms of emergency management as well as prevention and attenuation of natural disasters, said Mr. XI.
Fourth, diverse exchanges between peoples should be carried out to consolidate the foundations of friendship between China and Kazakhstan, he said. He also called to organize the year of Chinese tourism in Kazakhstan well and to encourage more exchanges between young people, the media and the reflection groups, as well as at the local level.
Xi stressed that, faced with the international situation marked by changes and chaos, China and Kazakhstan should firmly safeguard the international system with the United Nations in its center and the international order supported by international law, practice real multilateralism and resolutely safeguard the common interests of developing countries.
China congratulates Kazakhstan for the important preparation work it has carried out for the second Chinese-central Summit, and thinks that this meeting will write a new chapter of cooperation between China and Central Asia, said Mr. XI.
At the same time, while exercising the rotating presidency of the Shanghai cooperation organization, China is willing to work with all the member states to make this year’s Tianjin summit an opportunity to strengthen the organization and sketch new developments, new breakthroughs and new perspectives, said the Chinese president.
For his part, President Tokaïev said that China was a friendly neighbor, a close friend and a reliable partner in Kazakhstan.
The permanent global strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and China is entering a new golden age, fueling sustainable socioeconomic development of the two countries, benefiting the two peoples, and establishing a model of relations between countries, he said.
Stressing that Kazakhstan and China shared a strong political will to develop their cooperation, Mr. Tokaïev said that the two countries had always supported each other on issues relating to their fundamental interests, such as sovereignty and security, regardless of changes in the international landscape.
Under the wise direction of President XI, great achievements were completed for the cause of Chinese characteristics to a new era, he said.
Kazakhstan is sincerely delighted with these successes and it is firmly convinced that China will continue to make major development achievements, said Tokaïev, adding that Kazakhstan was ready to deepen mutual strategic confidence and mutually beneficial cooperation in all areas with China, and to bring bilateral relations to a higher level.
The two parties should jointly develop high quality cooperation in the belt and the road, extend their cooperation in fields such as trade, investment, industry, agriculture, energy and transport, and strengthen exchanges between peoples in the fields of culture, education, sport and tourism, he added.
The Kazakhe part greatly appreciates and actively supports the commitment and efforts of China to preserve equity and justice at the international level, and it is ready to pursue close cooperation and mutual support with China within multilateral frameworks such as the United Nations, the OCS, the Brics group, the Central China-Asie mechanism, and the Conference on Construction Interactions and The development of the international order in a fairer and reasonable direction.
At the end of these discussions, the two heads of state attended the exchange of more than 10 bilateral cooperation documents covering areas such as trade, investment, science and technology, customs, tourism, and the media.
