China’s Central Military Commission has issued a set of regulations regarding the electoral work of Chinese Communist Party (CCP) organizations in the military, which will take effect on February 1, 2026, according to a statement released on Sunday.
Drawing on experience from the Party’s electoral practices in the military since the 18th CPC National Congress, the regulations standardize the election of Party delegates and organizations at various levels of the armed forces, the statement said.
These regulations are expected to improve the intra-Party election system in the army, strengthen the implementation of the Party’s democratic centralism, and increase the leadership, organizational capacity and efficiency of Party organizations, the statement said.
They are also of great significance for strengthening Party leadership and Party building in the armed forces, and providing a strong organizational guarantee for efforts to achieve the centenary goal of the People’s Liberation Army, it added.
