The Information Office of the China State Council on Tuesday published a white paper entitled “Control substances related to fentanyl – the contribution of China”, emphasizing the country’s rigorous control of chemicals.
China attaches great importance to maintaining the control of fentanyl substances in recent years, indicates the white paper.
The country has exerted strict supervision of fentanyl drugs, rigorously prevented the abuse of fentanyl substances and led a fierce fight against smuggling, manufacturing and trafficking of fentanyl substances, as well as chemical precursors associated, notes the white paper.
“These measures resulted in remarkable results,” said the white paper.
The document also underlines China’s commitment to strengthen international cooperation in drug control by dialogue, joint surveys and knowledge sharing, while encouraging partnerships based on equality and mutual trust.
“China has obtained remarkable successes in the context of in-depth cooperation with the countries concerned, including the United States, to solve problems related to the substances related to fentanyl and their precursors,” said the white paper.
According to the document, China has scored fentanyl drugs on the list of controlled drugs and exercises strict control of their manufacture, sale, use and export.
Regarding control, China has actively worked on the implementation of a digital monitoring of fentanyl drugs, says the white paper.
The complete use of new technologies and methods, such as radiofrequency identification labels, the Internet of Objects and Artificial Intelligence, allows dynamic monitoring of the whole process and closed loop management of manufacturing, sale, transport, use, import and export of fentanyl drugs, in order to prevent their flight more effectively.
China actively meets new challenges in fentanyl substances, the document said.
To prevent the abuse of fentanyl substances and to fight and control associated crimes as much as possible, China has adopted integrated measures, such as the extension of the list of controlled substances, the strengthening of regular monitoring, the intensification of inspections and seizures and the implementation of innovative controls.
True to the vision of a community of the future shared for humanity, China rigorously respects its international obligations in drug control and adheres to the principle of responsibility shared by all countries as well as a global and balanced approach to drug control, according to the White Paper.
“It advocates mutual assistance, joint contribution and the sharing of profits between all countries and is opposed to mutual accusations and the rejection of responsibilities,” said the document.
The White Paper also stresses that China honors its own responsibilities in drug control, firmly supports the international system for controlling existing drugs, fully participates in major decision -making on international drug control and brings Chinese wisdom and solutions to global drug governance.
