China Post will issue a set of four stamps on Thursday to commemorate the 120th anniversary of the birth of late Chinese leader Deng Xiaoping.
Each stamp features an oil painting portrait of Mr Deng in memory of his glorious career and charismatic demeanor, China Post said Wednesday.
The paintings are titled “Experiences of Studying While Working Part-Time,” “Years of Military Service,” “Spring of Science,” and “Reform and Opening Up.”
Born on August 22, 1904 in the southwestern Chinese province of Sichuan, Mr. Deng is considered the “chief architect” of China’s reform and opening-up that began in the late 1970s.
At a price of 4.8 yuan (67 US cents) for each set, seven million sets of stamps will be issued.
