The total number of visits to science and technology museums in China exceeded 100 million for the first time in 2024, according to data released by the China Science and Technology Museum on Tuesday.
Science and technology museums in 31 provincial-level regions nationwide and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps received a total of 104 million visits last year, an increase of 16.3 percent from 2023.
China’s traveling science popularization projects also achieved remarkable results in 2024. By the end of the year, traveling science and technology museums had visited 746 sites, while science popularization caravans had traveled a total of 2.68 million kilometers.
The mobile science lessons, jointly organized by the Ministry of Education, the China Science and Technology Museum and online platform Douyin, have received more than 350 million views on the Internet.
