Chinese President Xi Jinping held talks with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto in Beijing on Saturday, expressing willingness to work with the new Indonesian government to continue promoting self-improvement, solidarity and win-win cooperation. winner between major developing countries.

Xi noted that Prabowo visited China on his first overseas trip immediately after his election in March and chose China as the first country to visit after taking office, reflecting the great importance it attaches to the development of relations with China, and demonstrates the high level and strategic nature of China-Indonesia relations.

Xi also stressed that adhering to strategic autonomy, mutual trust, mutual assistance, win-win cooperation, fairness and justice is not only a summary of the experience gained in the development of bilateral relations over the past decades, but also an important principle to follow to ensure the sustainable and stable development of bilateral relations in the future.

“China is willing to work with the new Indonesian government to build on the achievements made, promote the building of a community of shared future with regional and global influence, and continue to write a new chapter of research self-improvement through solidarity, as well as boosting mutually beneficial and win-win coordination and cooperation among major developing countries,” Xi said.

Xi stressed that the two sides should consolidate higher-level strategic mutual trust, increase exchanges and cooperation between governments and legislatures and at the subnational level, strengthen exchanges of governance experiences, firmly support in the exploration of modernization paths adapted to their national conditions and on issues related to the fundamental interests and major concerns of each.

Xi called on the two sides to further improve the arrangement of strategic cooperation and promote cooperation on the “five pillars” of politics, economy, people-to-people and cultural exchanges, maritime affairs and security. .

Xi called on the two sides to deepen high-quality cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, continue to properly operate the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway, promote Corridor cooperation comprehensive regional economy and the “Two Countries, Twin Parks” project, to strengthen cooperation in areas such as digital economy, advanced manufacturing and circular economy, carry out joint maritime development, and continuously deepen mutual cooperation beneficial on all fronts.

China is also willing to work with Indonesia to build more projects for the benefit of the people, strengthen exchanges and cooperation in poverty alleviation, medicine, grain cultivation and fisheries, provide support training of scientific personnel and development of vocational training in Indonesia, and introducing more facilitation measures to expand people-to-people exchanges, Xi noted.

This year marks the 70th anniversary of the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence, and next year will mark the 70th anniversary of the Spirit of Bandung, Xi noted, adding that China and Indonesia, as major countries developing countries, emerging markets and major members of the Global South, should jointly promote Asian values ​​characterized by peace, cooperation, inclusion and integration, enrich the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence and the Spirit of Bandung with there connotation of the new era, directing the countries of the Global South towards unity and self-improvement and guiding global governance towards a more just and equitable direction.

China is willing to carry out closer multilateral strategic coordination with Indonesia, oppose unilateralism and protectionism, advocate a fair and orderly multipolar world and inclusive economic globalization that benefits all, and jointly uphold the regional peace and stability, Xi said.

For his part, Prabowo said that in the complex and changing international situation, Indonesia is willing to work with China to further strengthen comprehensive strategic coordination, become closer comprehensive strategic partners, and build a community with a shared future of regional and global influence.

Indonesia is willing to continue high-quality cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative with China, improve the cooperation framework related to the “five pillars”, and strengthen comprehensive cooperation on entire industrial chains in infrastructure, energy minerals, medicine, agriculture, housing, joint maritime development, food security and poverty alleviation, he added.

Prabowo said Indonesia unequivocally adheres to the one-China principle and firmly supports China in its efforts to maintain development and stability in Xinjiang. He further praised China for upholding fairness and justice on the Palestinian issue.

Indonesia sticks to a foreign policy of independence and non-alignment, and will not join any military alliance or “exclusive bloc” against any third party, Prabowo said , adding that the country is willing to strengthen coordination with China in multilateral frameworks, especially the G20, to make positive contributions to safeguard the common interests of the Global South and promote a multipolar world.

At the end of their meeting, the two heads of state witnessed the signing of several bilateral cooperation documents in the areas of common development, the blue economy, water conservation and mineral resources.

The two sides issued a joint statement on promoting the China-Indonesia comprehensive strategic partnership and community with a shared future.
