The inauguration ceremony of the Chine-France (Taishan) Energies and Equipment Park (Taishan), located in the province of Guangdong (South), was held on Sunday April 27, 2025 at the National Center for China Convention, in Beijing, on the occasion of the 16th International China Nuclear Industry Show.
During the ceremony, representatives, including Chen Anming, secretary of the PCC Committee for the City of Jiangmen, Feng Xu, Deputy Director of the Center for the Promotion for the Development of SMEs under the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technologies, and Jean-Philippe Lamarcade, President of the France Chine Electricity Partnership, revealed the commemorative plaque of the Park.
Located in the International Cooperation Zone for SMEs China-Europe (Jiangmen), this industrial park, which covers 15 square kilometers, benefits from a strategic situation near the port, complete infrastructure, a large space and advantages in terms of costs.
Based on Sino-Française Cooperation in the nuclear field, it aims to become a national platform integrating research, manufacture and application in clean energy and equipment, and to establish a new reference for economic and technological cooperation between China and Europe, while injecting a new dynamic to the green development of the Greater Baie Guangdong-Hong Macao.
Mr. Lamarcade underlined that the EDF group and the company China General Nuclear Power Group (CGN), major partners in Sino-French cooperation in civil nuclear power for 40 years, have led to a large-scale projects, including the Taishan nuclear power plant, considered one of the flagship projects between France and China.
“While bilateral economic exchanges continue to deepen, EDF sees enormous potential on the Chinese nuclear energy market and places large hopes in the development of the industrial park,” he said, adding that the company plans to mobilize its resources in the supply chain to encourage more actors to engage in Sino-Française energy cooperation and contribute to the construction of the energy park and Clean equipment China-France (Taishan).
