China’s non-manufacturing purchasing managers’ index (PMI) stood at 50.2 in October, up from 50 in September, official data showed Thursday.
A number above 50 indicates expansion, while a reading below 50 reflects contraction.
The services sector sub-index stood at 50.1 in October, compared to 49.9 in September, while that of construction fell to 50.4 from 50.7 the previous month, according to the Bureau of State of statistics.
Data analysis shows that rail transportation, shipping, air transportation, postal services, capital market services and ecological conservation sectors recorded expansion in October, while sectors related to wholesale trade , accommodation, Internet software and information technology services, real estate and resident services recorded a contraction.
Data released on Thursday also showed that the country’s manufacturing sector IDA increased to 50.1 in October.
