The Tengwang Pavilion “returning the river to the people, returning the shore to the people, returning the scenery to the people” and the north expansion project were completed on January 1. After renovation and expansion, 90% of the Tengwang Pavilion Scenic Area is open to the public free of charge, allowing tourists and citizens to enjoy the beautiful scenery of “setting clouds and solitary swans flying together, and the autumn water and the sky are the same color” along the river.

The renovation and expansion project of Tengwang Pavilion is located on the north side of the scenic spot, with a total area of about 187 acres. The project includes the North Park of Tengwang Pavilion Scenic Area, the riverside trail, and a cruise terminal and other supporting facilities. After reconstruction, the Tengwang Pavilion Scenic Area has connected pavilions, banks and rivers, changing the previous problem of “near the river but not seeing it” for citizens and tourists, allowing the natural and cultural landscape to “return the river to the people, return the shore to the people, and return the scenery to the people”.
Tengwang Pavilion, a thousand-year-old famous building, is a cultural landmark in Nanchang, Jiangxi. It became famous because of the “Preface to Tengwang Pavilion” written by Wang Bo, a poet of the Tang Dynasty, and carries a profound historical and cultural heritage. According to statistics, the Tengwang Pavilion Scenic Area will receive more than 13 million tourists from all parties in 2024.

According to the scenic spot, after the expansion, the total area of Tengwang Pavilion Scenic Area has been expanded to about 700 acres, of which the core area of the paid scenic area has been reduced to 57 acres, which means that about 90% of the scenic area is open to tourists free of charge. At the same time, tourists can also recite the full text of “Preface to Prince Teng’s Pavilion” to enter the core scenic spots free of charge.
“You can not only climb high and look far to experience the historical heritage, but also enjoy the city scenery along the river. It feels great to have a free ‘tour’ of Tengwang Pavilion!” said Ms. Hu, a tourist from Chengdu.

“In this renovation of the Tengwang Pavilion Scenic Area, a riverside trail was specially built to connect the north and south of the scenic area.” Gong Zheng, project manager of the north expansion project of the Tengwang Pavilion Scenic Area of Nanchang Communications Investment Group, said that citizens and tourists can walk directly to the Tengwang Pavilion through the trail, and interact with the Tengwang Pavilion. You can have close contact with the pavilions and take photos with the carved beams and painted buildings, realizing that “people walking in the scenery seem to be swimming in the paintings.” (Reporter Zhu Yunuo)
