The 2nd orchid prize ceremony was held on July 10 in Beijing.
Orchid prices are intended to actively implement the global civilization initiative proposed by President Xi Jinping, to recognize and reward international friends and institutions that have made exceptional contributions to the promotion of common values of all humanity, to the promotion of cultural exchanges and mutual learning, and to the consolidation of humanist foundations of the construction of a community with a shared future.
Nine foreigners, including Bulgarian Irina Bokova, former CEO of UNESCO, Tadjik Rashid Alimov, former foreign minister of Tadjikistan and former secretary general of the Shanghai cooperation organization, French Maxime Vivas, writer and essayist, and the Philadelphia orchestra, in the United States, were distinguished this year.
On this occasion, the winners stressed that, taking into account the current international disturbed context and the common destiny of humanity, it is more than ever necessary, to strengthen mutual understanding and the links between peoples of all countries and achieve a consensus on international cooperation, to encourage more cultural ambassadors to promote understanding and friendship through culture, in order to draw up a good portrait of human civilization.
The winners also expressed their commitment to defend peaceful coexistence and to consolidate a consensus of civilization of peaceful cooperation, to advocate the search for understanding grounds while putting aside the differences and to promote the values of openness and inclusion, to deepen mutual learning and to actively encourage dialogue and cooperation between civilizations, to grant particular attention to transmission and innovation, To share the exceptional achievements of human civilization and to make new and greater contributions to the strengthening of cultural consensus, to the promotion of cultural prosperity, development and progress of human civilization.
The 2nd orchid prize ceremony was organized by the International Communication Group of China (CICG) and by the Orchid Prize secretariat. More than 300 representatives of the central services concerned, international organizations, foreign diplomatic envoys in China, Chinese and foreign reflection groups and media were present. It has also been announced that the second edition of the “China Study Day” of orchid prices will also be held from July 9 to 14 in Beijing and Harbin, capital of the Heilongjiang province (northeast of China).
