A total of 400 fresh roses from Kenya, which arrived by plane on July 18, have been transshipped to Uzbekistan under the supervision of customs at Huanghua International Airport in Changsha, capital of central China’s Hunan Province, Changsha Customs announced on July 23. The transshipment marks the first transit trade operation for fresh flowers from Africa in the country.
The roses were declared for import at 10:47 a.m. (Beijing time) on the morning of July 18 and passed customs forty minutes later. At 12:04 p.m., Changsha Customs issued the first phytosanitary quarantine certificate for transshipment in Hunan, and at 12:42 p.m., the export customs formalities were completed.
Yu Qing, deputy director of customs at Changsha Huanghua International Airport, said that transit trade involves the passage of goods through a third country. “For this operation, customs worked closely with the company concerned by opening technical discussions and setting up a ‘green corridor’ to facilitate the process.”
Changsha Huanghua International Airport Customs said it will continue to improve customs facilitation measures to support enterprises in developing new business models such as freight forwarding trade.
