The supreme political advisory body of China concluded its annual session on Monday, calling on political advisers to make new and larger contributions to the advancement of Chinese modernization.
Chinese President Xi Jinping and other leaders, including Li Qiang, Cai Qi, Ding Xuexiang, Li Xi and Han Zheng, attended the closing meeting of the third session of the 14th National Committee of the Political Advisory Conference of the Chinese People (CCPPC) at the Grand Palais du Peuple in Beijing.
Wang Huning, president of the National Committee of the CCPPC, chaired the meeting.
According to Wang, the session has demonstrated the CCPPC political forces and the vitality of complete popular democracy in China. Political advisers have expressed their commitment to further strengthen their determination and confidence in the achievement of a greater success in Chinese socialism in the new era, Wang added.
Mr. Wang urged the CCPPC to better fulfill its role as the most inclusive UNA patriotic front organization, a key channel for the practice of socialist consultative democracy and specialized advisory body.
The CCPPC must continue to strengthen its capacity for political consultation, democratic supervision, participation in political life and deliberation of state affairs, added Wang.
He urged political advisers to remain united and to redouble their efforts to advance national revival by a Chinese path towards modernization.
The meeting of Monday approved four documents: a resolution on a work report by the permanent committee of the CCPPC National Committee, a resolution concerning a report on the way in which the proposals of the political advisers have been processed since the previous annual session, a report on the examination of the new proposals and a political resolution on the third session of the 14th National Committee of the CCPPC.
