On February 19, 2025, the “New Archaeological Discoveries in China in 2024” was announced at the Archaeology Forum of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. Six projects including the Paleolithic Site in Dadong, Helong City, Jilin Province were selected.

On February 19, 2025, the “Archaeology Forum of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences·New Archaeological Discoveries in 2024” was held at the Chinese Academy of History in Beijing. Dadong Paleolithic Site in Helong City, Jilin Province, Xiatang Neolithic Site in Xianju County, Zhejiang Province, Majiayao Cultural Settlement in Siwa Site in Lintao County, Gansu Province, Zhouyuan Site in Baoji City, Shaanxi Province, Wuwangdun, Huainan City, Anhui Province Six domestic archaeological projects, including Tomb No. 1 in the late Warring States Period and the Yuan, Ming and Qing porcelain site group in Jingdezhen City, Jiangxi Province, were awarded the title of “New Archaeological Discovery in China in 2024”. The forum also announced the archaeological results of the Monzatipe site in Uzbekistan, which were excavated by the Central Asian Archaeology Team of the Institute of Archaeology of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.

Experts introduced that the Dadong Paleolithic Site is the largest and most abundant late Paleolithic wilderness site discovered in Northeast Asia. It has the earliest and clearest late Paleolithic cultural sequence in the Changbai Mountain area of ​​China and even Northeast Asia. . Xiatang Neolithic Site is an important empirical evidence of my country’s ten thousand years of cultural history, providing a new material for the study of regional cultural evolution and the history of ten thousand years of rice farming. The Majiayao cultural settlement of the Siwa site shows the development level and civilization level of the early society in the western part of the Loess Plateau 5,000 years ago, filling the gap in the critical period of the core hinterland of the upper reaches of the Yellow River in the study of Chinese civilization. The discovery of a large rammed earth building complex in the Zhouyuan site during the Zhou Dynasty provided key evidence for judging that the Zhouyuan site was for the destruction of the Zhou people before the Shang Dynasty. The tomb of Wu Wangdun is the largest, highest-level and most complex high-level tomb of Chu State that has been scientifically excavated to date. It provides a systematic approach for studying the high-level tomb system of Chu State in the late Warring States Period and the history and culture after the Chu State moved eastward. Archaeological data. Jingdezhen Yuan, Ming and Qing porcelain industry ruins group can study the appearance of Jingdezhen porcelain industry, settlement expansion, urban structure and management, population composition and belief, raw material mining and processing transportation, changes in the division of labor and form of handicrafts in Jingdezhen city over 600 years, First-hand information is provided on the relationship between imperial kilns and folk kilns, the impact of market demand on Jingdezhen products.
