△On February 11, local time, in Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico, members of the U.S. National Guard searched for tunnels on the U.S.-Mexico border.

On February 19 local time, the US Department of Defense issued a statement saying that Gregory Gilot, commander of the US Northern Command, and Mexican Defense Secretary Trevilla recently met to discuss the issue of security cooperation between the US and Mexico, which has led to the two sides’ discussion of the issue of security cooperation between the US and Mexico. Border cooperation activities develop and sign a joint statement of understanding.

The statement stated that the two sides agreed to coordinate patrols on their respective borders, strengthen information sharing, and establish instant communication methods. The agreement stresses that the two countries will respect each other’s sovereignty.

The statement said the two sides hope that the agreement will facilitate further dialogue and more detailed coordination at all levels to ensure common security at the border. (CCTV reporter Xu Dezhi Ma Tianjing)
