Chinese President Xi Jinping and his wife Peng Liyuan met the King of Cambodia Norodom Sihamoni and Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk on Tuesday in Beijing.
Mr. XI gave them a warm welcome for their new visit to China and welcomed King Sihamoni, who came to attend the events marking the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese people’s war of resistance against Japanese assault and the anti -fascist world war.
Mr. XI recalled his state visit to Cambodia in April and the hospitality from which he benefited from King Sihamoni and the Cambodian people.
Sino-Cambodian relations have resisted the tests of international vicissitudes while the two parties forged an unwavering friendship by sharing the joys and sorrows, which has become a precious asset for the two peoples and deserves all the more to be cherished by the two parties, said Mr. XI.
Faced with an international situation marked by changes and chaos, China and Cambodia must remain even more firmly united, perpetuate their traditional friendship, strengthen their solidarity and cooperation, accelerate the construction of a community of shared future China-Cambodge in the new era, and bring more profits to the two peoples, he said.
Xi stressed that China firmly supported the Cambodian people in the pursuit of a development path adapted to its national situation and in the realization of a long -term peace and stability for its country.
King Norodom Sihamoni and Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk said they were happy to go again to China and be invited to participate in the events marking the 80th anniversary of the War of the Chinese People’s War against Japanese assault and anti -fascist world war.
They indicated that the Chinese people had made a significant contribution to the maintenance of world peace, which deserves to be recalled forever.
The two parties mentioned friendship, discussed cooperation and obtained important results during the historic state visit to President XI in Cambodia in April.
They said that Cambodia had always considered bilateral relations from a strategic point of view and that it was willing to continue traditional friendship and jointly build a community of the future shared Cambodge-China in the new era.
