Chinese President Xi Jinping called for the construction of a community of the future shared with neighboring countries and efforts to create a new context in favor of the neighborhood work of China.
Mr. XI, also secretary general of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party (CCC) and president of the Central Military Commission, made these remarks during a central conference on work linked to neighboring countries, which was held in Beijing from Tuesday to Wednesday.
Li Qiang, Zhao Leji, Wang Huning, Cai Qi, Ding Xuexiang and Li XI, members of the Permanent Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the PCC, as well as Vice-President Han Zheng also participated in the conference.
In his speech, Mr. Xi systematically summarized the achievements and experience of the neighborhood work of China in the new era, scientifically analyzed the current situation and exposes the objectives, tasks, ideas and measures for the next phase of neighborhood work.
While he chaired the meeting, Prime Minister Li Qiang highlighted the need to rigorously implement the spirit of the important speech of Mr. XI and to seriously perform the various tasks of work linked to neighboring countries.
Participants in the conference stressed that the vast territory of China and its long borders made its vital vital basis for the country’s development and prosperity, an essential front for the safeguarding of national security, a priority aspect in the global diplomacy of the country and a crucial link in the construction of a community of the future shared for humanity.
They called to consider neighboring regions from a global perspective and to strengthen the sense of responsibility and mission in promoting the neighborhood work of China.
According to the conference, after the 18th National Congress of the PCC, China highlighted the principles of friendship, sincerity, reciprocity and inclusiveness in its neighborhood diplomacy, pleading for the construction of a community of the future shared with neighboring countries.
Guided by the diplomacy of head of state, China has worked with neighboring countries to deepen global cooperation, strengthen exchanges in various fields and maintain peace and stability, thus ensuring historical achievements and transformations in neighborhood work, according to the conference.
China’s relations with its neighboring countries are currently at their best level of modern times, and also fall into a critical phase where regional dynamics and global transformations are deeply intertwined, noted participants in the conference, calling for both national and international situations and coordinating the two main priorities that are development and security.
To build a better future with its neighbors, China will remain determined to promote a friendly, safe and prosperous neighborhood. It will support the Asian values of peace, cooperation, openness and inclusiveness, will use high-quality cooperation in the context of the “belt and road” initiative as a main platform, and will continue the Asian security model characterized by the sharing of happiness and misfortune, the search for common ground beyond the differences, and the priority for dialogue and consultation, according to the conference.
He was underlined at the conference that, to build a community of the future shared with neighboring countries, China would work with its neighbors to consolidate mutual strategic confidence, support regional countries in the pursuit of development paths adapted to their respective conditions, and properly manage the differences.
China will also deepen the integration of development with its neighbors, will build a high -level connectivity network, will strengthen cooperation in industrial and supply chains, will advance cooperation in terms of security and application of the law, and will extend the exchanges between peoples, according to the conference.
