Xi Jinping inspects a city in northeast China as spring festival approaches

Xi Jinping, secretary general of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party, inspected Shenyang on Thursday, capital of the Chinese province of Liaoning (northeast).

Mr. XI went to the city shortly before the spring party, the most important party for the Chinese people, which falls this year on January 29.

Mr. XI visited a food market and a residential area in Shenyang, where he learned of the supply of goods during the spring festival period and the measures set up to meet the daily needs of the inhabitants and optimize public services, as well as details on the progress made to improve the life of the people.

For more than a decade, Mr. XI, as the highest leader of the party and the State, has gotten into the habit of spending time with ordinary people before the Spring Festival.
