The Chinese president, Xi Jinping, underlined Thursday the strengthening of the role of education in support for scientific and technological progress as well as the development of talents.
Mr. XI, also secretary general of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party (CCC) and president of the Central Military Commission, called for an in -depth understanding of the needs of Chinese modernization in terms of education, science and technology, as well as talents.
The objective is to train talents continuously, to release all their potential and to ensure that their capacities are fully exploited, said Mr. XI at a joint group meeting within the framework of the third session of the 14th National Committee of the Political Advisory Conference of the Chinese People (CCPPC), the supreme political advisory body.
The national political advisers of the Democratic League of China, the Chinese Association for the Progress of Democracy and the Education Sector participated in the meeting.
Xi stressed the importance of maintaining a correct orientation for school management in the process of building China in the leading country in education, science and technology, as well as talent.
He called for the formation of a new generation of competent young people, equipped with legal bases, intellectual capacities, physical vigor, aesthetic sensitivity and the professional skills necessary to join and pursue the socialist cause.
He insisted on the need to instill in the students the thought of the Chinese socialism of the new era.
To develop a high -quality education system that meets the expectations of the population, the key lies in the deepening of the global education reform, said Xi.
It is important to refine the school management system, to give schools greater autonomy in decision-making and continuously progress the law administration based on law, he added.
To achieve a healthy interaction between independent scientific and technological innovation and autonomous talent training, education must continue to play its fundamental and leading role to support this cause, noted Mr. XI.
He underlined the need to refine the mechanism of alignment of the culture of talents with the needs of economic and social development in order to improve the quality and efficiency of the autonomous talent training.
Noting that the promotion of education, science and technology and the development of talents is a responsibility shared by the whole party and society, Mr. XI has urged the CCPPC to take full advantage of its role as a specialized advisory order.
Wang Huning, president of the National Committee of the CCPPC, and Cai Qi, director of the general management of the central committee of the CCP, joined Mr. XI for this discussion with the political advisers. MM. Wang and Cai are also members of the permanent committee of the PCC central committee from the Central Committee.
