Chinese President Xi Jinping has urged to fully intensify troop training, strengthen combat readiness and improve airborne operation capabilities, so as to build a strong and modernized airborne force.
Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, made the remarks Monday while inspecting an airborne force in Xiaogan city, central China’s Hubei province. ).
Xi inspected equipment used in airborne operations and learned about the tactical performance of key weapons and equipment.
Hailing the positive results achieved in recent years, Xi urged more efforts to build a new airborne equipment system.
While visiting a museum on the history of the Airborne Corps, Xi emphasized the need to provide education and guidance to military personnel to carry forward the glorious legacies into the new era.
He emphasized the importance of strengthening combat readiness awareness and consolidating military readiness, while intensifying joint training with other branches of the armed forces and increasing capabilities relating to joint command, operations and support.
Efforts should be made to foster new-quality combat capability and utilize cutting-edge technological advancements to contribute to the development of the airborne corps, he noted.
Xi also urged efforts to forge Party organizations within the military with unwavering political perseverance and robust capabilities, and to combat corruption and misbehavior among military personnel.
