The Chinese president, Xi Jinping, urged the eastern province of Jiangsu on Wednesday on Wednesday, to play a major role in the overall development of the country.
Mr. XI, also secretary general of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party (PCC) and president of the Central Military Commission, made these remarks by joining a deliberation with the legislators of the Jiangsu delegation, during the third session of the 14th National People’s Assembly (APN), national legislative body of China.
The Jiangsu should take the lead in promoting the integration of technological and industrial innovation, the advancement of in -depth reform and high -level opening, as well as the implementation of the main national development strategies, said Xi, adding that it should serve as an example in the search for common prosperity.
After listening to the presentations of several deputies to the APN, Mr. Xi noted that technological innovation and industrial innovation constituted the fundamental paths to develop the new quality productive forces.
To advance technological innovation, it is essential to modernize the industrial system and coordinate education, science and technology, as well as the culture of talents, said Mr. XI, calling for more scientific and technological advances and transforming them into concrete productive forces.
Xi called on the province to deepen the reform and the opening. It is necessary to keep in mind national and international imperatives, to promote urban-rural integration and regional coordination, to optimize the distribution of productive forces and to strive to promote high quality development, he noted.
He added that equal treatment should be guaranteed for businesses, regardless of their form of property, and that sustained efforts had to be made to improve the commercial environment.
XI has urged the province to make proactive and coordinated efforts in the integrated development of the Yangtsé river delta, the development of the Yangtsé river economic belt and the implementation of other development strategies.
The Jiangsu must strengthen its alignment with strategies such as the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and the development of the Greater Baie Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao region and are deeply involved in high quality cooperation in the context of the “belt and road” initiative, underlined Mr. XI.
He also insisted on continuous efforts to promote global rural revitalization and integrated urban development-Rural development, as well as to consolidate and expand achievements in poverty reduction.
CAI QI, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the CCP and director of the General Directorate of the Central Committee of the CPC, was present at the event.
