Against this background, the e-commerce logistics index experienced a seasonal decline in January, and the total business volume index and rural business volume index decreased month-on-month.
Judging from the sub-item data, the total business volume index of e-commerce logistics has declined. In January, the total business volume index of e-commerce logistics was 123.4 points, down 7.5 points from December 2024. By region, the total business volume index of all regions in the country has declined, with the central region falling the largest, down 8.1 points.
The rural e-commerce logistics business volume index has declined significantly. In January, the rural e-commerce logistics business volume index was 120.8 points, down 8.5 points from December 2024. Wu Jiang said that compared with the same period last year, major e-commerce platforms this year pay more attention to the transformation from “Spring Festival traffic” to “consumption increment”, through live e-commerce, Spring Festival Gala marketing, etc., as well as “red envelope delivery”, “festive lottery” Activities such as online interaction provide users with a richer interactive experience and release new potential for holiday consumption. Data released by the State Post Bureau shows that during the 2025 Spring Festival holiday, 1.145 billion express parcels were collected nationwide, an increase of 31% compared with the same period of the lunar calendar in 2024; 782 million express parcels were delivered, an increase of 26.7% compared with the same period of the lunar calendar in 2024. .
Inventory turnover, satisfaction rate and personnel index fell slightly. In January, due to factors such as the suspension of some express delivery during the Spring Festival holiday, the inventory turnover rate fell by 2.0 points month-on-month. The logistics timeliness, fulfillment rate and load rate indexes have declined significantly. In January, due to the decline in business volume, the load rate index fell by 4.8 points month-on-month. The logistics timeliness and fulfillment rate indexes fell by 5.0 points and 4.1 points respectively, falling back to below 100 points. The service efficiency of e-commerce logistics companies fluctuated due to changes in business volume, which was basically the same as the same period last year.
“From the supply side, many express delivery companies in my country stick to their posts and make every effort to ensure the demand for express delivery during holidays. However, due to multiple factors such as limited resource allocation during the Spring Festival holiday and extreme weather changes, the user’s express delivery timeliness has been affected to varying degrees.
