The Chinese authorities have unveiled a three -year action plan to improve the country’s consumption environment, as part of efforts to revitalize consumption.
By 2027, key problems such as poor quality of goods supply, market disorder and insufficient protection for consumer rights will be treated, according to the plan published jointly by five government bodies, including the National Administration market regulation.
Over the next three years, China will endeavor to improve the quality of goods and services, to tackle the deep causes of consumption disputes and to increase convenience, comfort and satisfaction of consumers, in order to to significantly improve the general national consumption environment.
The plan also highlights the efforts made to create new consumption scenarios, emphasizing areas such as digital consumption, green consumption and consumption of health products.
In 2024, retail sales of consumer goods in China increased by 3.5% from one year to the next, stressing the country’s high consumption potential.
