The first giant pandas born in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (Rashk) will be presented to the public at the Hong Kong Ocean Park on Sunday. These twins, a male and a female born last August, are the babies of Ying Ying and the Le, the giant pandas offered by the central government at the Rashk.
During the presentation ceremony held on Saturday, the chief of the executive of the Rashk, John Lee, expressed his deep gratitude to the experts for taking care of the twins and provided professional postnatal care in Ying Ying after their birth.
“Ying Ying, their mother, holds the world record as the oldest giant panda to give birth for the first time. The birth of these twins does not only honor the remarkable achievements of our country in the conservation of the giant panda, But it also demonstrates the position of leader of the Ocean Park as an important basis of conservation and education in Hong Kong, “he said, adding that the government of Rashk would continue to promote and support the conservation efforts of giant pandas.
Over the past six months, twins have experienced healthy growth, from around 120 g at birth to more than 12 kg currently, according to the goalkeepers.
