The third World Digital Business Expo opened Wednesday in Hangzhou, capital of China’s Zhejiang Province, showcasing the latest technological innovations and business developments in the digital economy sector.
Themed “Digital Trade, Global Access,” this year’s event attracted more than 1,500 Chinese and foreign enterprises, including over 300 international companies. More than 30,000 buyers registered for the event, including over 6,000 from overseas.
A total of 446 new products and technologies are expected to be showcased during the five-day expo. This year, the expo has set up special exhibition areas for robots with artificial intelligence (AI) innovations and smart traffic solutions for the low-altitude economy.
The size of China’s low-lying economy is estimated to exceed 500 billion yuan (about $70.1 billion) in 2023, and its scale is expected to reach 2 trillion yuan by 2030, according to the Civil Aviation Administration of China.
Co-hosted by the Zhejiang provincial government and the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, the event is currently the only national-level digital trade themed expo. China’s digital industry has seen strong growth in recent years, with a total turnover of 32.5 trillion yuan in 2023.
