Beijing’s Tian’anmen Square and Chang’an Avenue were decorated with flowers ahead of the National Day holiday.
An 18-meter-high flower basket was installed in Tian’anmen Square and ten flower beds of different styles were set up along Chang’an Avenue, according to Liu Mingxing of the Municipal Forestry Bureau and parks in Beijing.
Other floral decorations, including more than 20,000 planters, were placed throughout the city to celebrate the holiday which begins on October 1.
The ornamentation of Tian’anmen Square and Chang’an Avenue is a highlight of the annual National Day celebrations and a tradition that has continued for 40 years.
