The new edition of the China International Import Expo (CIIE), the first national-level expo dedicated to imports in the world, opened in Shanghai on Tuesday.
Chinese Premier Li Qiang delivered an inaugural speech at the opening ceremony of the 7th CIIE and Hongqiao International Economic Forum.
The 7th CIIE, which will be held from November 5 to 10, has attracted 3,496 exhibitors from 129 countries and regions. A record 297 Fortune Global 500 companies and industry leaders will also be present at the event.
More than 400 new products, new technologies and new services will be unveiled during this edition, constituting, according to experts, a strong sign of the confidence of global companies in the Chinese market and their commitment to continue their development in China despite a slow global economic recovery.
