Chinese President Xi Jinping said on Wednesday that China and Russia had found the right track for inter-state interactions between major neighboring countries.
He made these remarks in a written declaration published on his arrival in Moscow, where he went for a state visit and to participate in the celebrations of the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Soviet Union in the Great Patriotic War.
Mr. XI stressed that China and Russia were inseparable neighbors, real friends sharing joys and sorrows and good partners turned towards mutual success. As such, the two parties are linked by a spirit of strategic coordination for the new era, characterized by permanent friendship and good neighborhood, by global strategic coordination and by mutually beneficial cooperation.
Xi said that relations between the two countries were independent, mature and resilients, and brought not only large profits to the two peoples, but also significantly contributed to the maintenance of global strategic stability and to the promotion of an egalitarian and ordered multipolar world.
This year marks both the 80th anniversary of victory in the world war against fascism and the 80th anniversary of the United Nations Foundation, he noted.
China and Russia, two major global powers who are permanent members of the UN Security Council, will unite their efforts to preserve the fruit of the Second World War victory, firmly protect the international system centered on the UN and the world order based on international law, resolutely oppose hegemonism and power policies, practice real multilateralism and promote the construction of a more just global governance system and fair, said Xi.
The Chinese president also said that during his visit, he would exchange in depth with Russian President Vladimir Putin on bilateral relations, practical cooperation and major international and regional questions of common interest. This will instill a powerful impetus in the development of the global strategic coordination partnership for China-Russia for a new era.
Noting that he will again witness, after a decade, to the celebrations of the day of victory in Russia on May 9, Xi declared that he was delighted to work with the leaders of other countries and the Russian people to commemorate the martyrs who heroically sacrificed their lives for the victory of the world anti -fascist war, to promote jointly a correct historical prospect of the Second World War and safeguard international equity and justice.
Mr. Xi’s plane was escorted by Russian air force devices after entering the country’s airspace.
Upon his arrival at Vnoukovo airport in Moscow, Mr. Xi was warmly welcomed by the Vice-Prime Russian Minister Tatiana Golikova and by other senior government officials.
