China strives to make the Southern China Sea a sea of peace, friendship and cooperation, according to the report of a reflection group published on Sunday.
The report, entitled “Make the Southern China Sea a sea of peace, friendship and cooperation: actions of China”, was published by the Xinhua Institute, a reflection group affiliated to the Xinhua press agency.
China maintains that peace and stability in these waters are based on joint efforts between it and the ASEAN countries, the report said.
Thanks to increased confidence and cooperation in the political, economic and cultural fields, this partnership has generated lasting mutual benefits. Thus, China has asserted itself as a reliable force for the maintenance of regional peace and stability, while promoting cooperation and development in the Southern China Sea, the report indicates.
According to the report, China has endeavored to build regional peace by strengthening mutual political trust, stimulating mutual economic benefits in favor of regional prosperity and improving connectivity between peoples for a common future.
