Chinese automaker China Faw Group Co., Ltd. said on Tuesday that its national Hongqi brand intensified its global expansion, in particular in Europe, with high sales reported in the first half of 2025.
Hongqi sold 225,267 vehicles from January to June, an increase of 11.8% compared to the previous year. Sales of new energy vehicles (VE) under the brand increased by 19.2% compared to the previous year, according to the company.
Liu Changqing, vice-president of the Hongqi brand operating committee, said more than 20 new models, including VE, energy efficient models and ultra-luxury models, would be introduced worldwide to the future to make the automaker a global brand.
As part of its continuous expansion in Europe after entering the Polish market, Hongqi recently launched a range of fuel models and exclusively electric on the Czech and Slovak markets.
Within five years, Hongqi plans to extend its presence in more than 100 countries and regions, by creating a global network of 1,000 points of sale and service. At the same time, its operational headquarters for Europe and the Middle East should be inaugurated soon.
Hongqi, which means “red flag”, is the emblematic brand of Chinese sedans. Created in 1958, the brand saw its vehicles used in parades to mark national celebrations.
