Peng Liyuan, wife of General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Chinese President Xi Jinping, and Ngo Phuong Ly, wife of General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Vietnamese President To Lam, visited the National Performing Arts Center in Beijing on Wednesday.

Ms. Peng and Ngo Phuong Ly visited the opera house, the virtual reality creation space and the recording studio, discovering the center’s actions in favor of artistic creation, the provision of cultural services and international cultural exchanges. During the visit, they attended rehearsals for a Chinese ethnic dance performance and a choir recording session, stopping occasionally to exchange views.

Peng noted that China and Vietnam, united by mountains and rivers, share similar cultures, and their people enjoy mutual understanding and friendship. She expressed the hope that cultural institutions and artists of the two countries will strengthen their exchanges and cooperation through various means so as to deepen the friendship between the two countries and nourish the bonds of friendship between their peoples.

Ngo Phuong Ly sincerely thanked Ms. Peng for her warm and thoughtful disposition, praised China’s achievements in cultural development and artistic innovation, and expressed readiness to actively promote exchanges in cultural and artistic fields between the two countries and advance the friendship between Vietnam and China.
