Erenhot, the largest terrestrial terminal on the Sino-Mongole border, has crossed the CAP of 20,000 entries and outings of Chine-Europe freight trains since the commissioning of this link in 2013, announced Sunday the company China Railway Hohhot Group Co., Ltd.
In recent years, thanks to the growing efforts of China in international economic and commercial cooperation, the Erenhot terminal, located in the Autonomous Region of Interior Mongolia (northern China), has recorded a significant increase in the number of trains, destinations, frequencies and types of goods transported, the group said.
The threshold of 10,000 trains had been crossed in 2022, and it only took three years to cross the second level of the 10,000 additional trains. If the first expeditions mainly concern metallic, chemical and clothing products, trains now transport goods with high added value, such as new energy vehicles, electronic devices and household appliances, according to the same source.
As a point of entry and key exit of the central corridor of the China-Europe rail service, the Erenhot terminal now serves 73 lines connecting more than 60 cities distributed in 24 provincial regions in China to more than 70 stations located in ten countries, including Germany and Poland.
