A report by a reflection group published on Saturday explains the contemporary need for new global public intellectual goods to answer pressing questions in the world.
Entitled “Answering the questions of our time: global scope and practical value of public intellectual goods of China”, the report was published on Saturday by the Xinhua Institute, a reflection group affiliated to the Xinhua news agency (China Nouvelle).
The report indicates that global public intellectual goods include universal, normative and instructive ideas, rules and values in global governance and international relations, providing intellectual support and principles of orientation to meet global challenges and shape the international order.
According to the report, global public intellectual goods, from the shared wisdom of humanity and transcending national and cultural borders, have played a crucial role in shaping international order, the progress of global governance and the promotion of modernization in nations since modern times.
“Today, when unpublished changes have been accelerating for a century, humanity has faced unprecedented challenges and has urgently needs new global public intellectual goods to provide answers to the pressing questions of our time and the world,” said the report.
