The Chinese president, Xi Jinping, called to firmly defend international equity and justice, to remain on the path of peaceful development and to deploy tireless efforts to improve the well-being of the population at any time.
Mr. XI, who is also secretary general of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party and president of the Central Military Commission, was thus expressed in a speech at the reception organized within the framework of commemorative activities of the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese people’s war of resistance against the Japanese and the anti -fascist World War.
Around 11:30 am, Mr. XI and his wife Peng Liyuan entered the banquet room with foreign leaders and their wives assisting at the reception.
Xi stressed that victory marked a historic turning point for the Chinese nation, going from the abyss of crisis of the modern era to the path of national revival, and also constituted a major turning point in global development.
This great victory was carried out thanks to the common struggle of the Chinese people with the allies and anti -fascist peoples around the world, noted Mr. XI.
The Chinese government and the people will never forget foreign governments and international friends who had supported and assisted the Chinese people in their resistance against aggression, he said.
As a habitants of the same planet, humanity must remain in solidarity in difficult times, live in harmony and never fall back into the law of the jungle where the forts attack the weak, said Mr. XI.
Insisting that Chinese modernization is that of peaceful development, Xi said that China would always be a force for peace, stability and progress in the world.
Mr. XI has expressed his sincere wish to see all countries learn from history, enhance peace and work together to promote world modernization and create a better future for humanity.
Upon receipt, Mr. XI and Mrs Peng attended the guests with cultural performance.
Li Qiang chaired reception. Other senior officials, including Zhao Leji, Wang Huning, Cai Qi, Ding Xuexiang, Li Xi and Han Zheng, also attended the event.
