Chinese President Xi Jinping announced the contributions determined at the national level (CDN) of China for 2035 in his video speech addressed to the United Nations on the 2025 climate held Wednesday (local) in New York.
Mr. XI announced the new CDNs of China as follows: by 2035, China will reduce net emissions of greenhouse gases of its entire economy from 7 to 10% compared to maximum levels, by trying to do better; It will increase the share of non -fossil fuels in total energy consumption to more than 30%; It will multiply by more than six the installed wind and solar energy capacity compared to the levels of 2020, by trying to reach a total of 3,600 gigawatts; It will increase the total volume of forest stocks to more than 24 billion cubic meters; It will make new energy vehicles the dominant current in sales of new vehicles; It will extend the national market for the exchange of carbon emission quotas to cover the main sectors with strong emissions; And it will set up a company fundamentally adapted to the climate.
These objectives represent the best efforts of China on the basis of the requirements of the Paris Agreement, said Mr. XI, adding that their realization required both fierce efforts on the part of China itself and a favorable and open international environment, and that China had the determination and confidence necessary to keep its commitments.
