The Shenzhou-21 manned spacecraft will be launched at an appropriate date in the near future, the China Manned Space Agency (CMSA) said on Friday.
According to the CMSA, the assembly consisting of the spacecraft and a Long March-2F carrier rocket was transferred to the launch area.
All facilities and equipment at the launch site are in good condition, and the various functional checks and joint pre-launch tests will be carried out as planned.
After transferring the spacecraft-carrier rocket assembly to the launch area, the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center will conduct functional checks of the rocket and spacecraft, and hold comprehensive launch exercises and joint exercises. Subsequently, the center will proceed to fill the rocket propellant and carry out the launch mission as planned, according to the launch center.
The Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center is currently China’s only launch site for manned space missions. So far, all Shenzhou series ships have been launched from this center.
At present, all systems for the next mission in the launch center are in good condition.
Meteorological, medical, emergency response, firefighting and other services have conducted several rounds of exercises to be ready to provide rapid, reliable and comprehensive support to the Shenzhou-21 mission, according to the launch center.
