The presidium of the fourth session of the 14th National People’s Congress (NPC), China’s top legislature, held its second meeting on Tuesday, chaired by Zhao Leji, executive chairman of the presidium.
At the meeting, it was decided to submit to the NPC delegations for deliberation, a draft revised environmental code, a revised draft law on promoting ethnic unity and progress, and a revised draft law on national development planning.
It was also decided to submit other documents: a draft resolution on the government activity report; a draft resolution on the program of the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030) for national economic and social development; a draft resolution on the report of the national economic and social development plan and the plan for 2026; and a draft resolution on the report of central and local budgets and the budgets for 2026.
Zhao, who is also chairman of the NPC Standing Committee, chaired a meeting of the presidium’s executive chairmen before the presidium’s second meeting.
