The 9th Digital China Summit will be held from April 29 to 30 in Fuzhou, east China’s Fujian Province, and will place greater emphasis on showcasing achievements, showcasing cutting-edge technologies and promoting a thriving digital ecosystem, an official said Tuesday.
Liu Liehong, director of the National Data Administration (NDA), made the remarks at a press conference of the Information Office of the State Council, adding that the theme of the upcoming summit would be accelerating innovation and development in the field of digital technologies as well as deepening the construction of digital China.
The summit will highlight notable achievements and breakthroughs in the development of digital China. Key publications will include the Digital China Development Report (2025) and the Digital China Development Index.
More than 30 key policies, reports and standards related to digital China will be unveiled by government agencies including the NDA, the Cyberspace Administration of China (CCA) and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MITI).
Nearly 400 leading enterprises, including China Southern Power Grid and Alibaba, will showcase their latest technologies and new products in digital transformation.
The summit will also highlight nearly 100 exemplary cases of data element integration in agriculture, industrial manufacturing, healthcare, culture and tourism, of which more than 65% will be presented for the first time.
The summit will unveil more than 20 technical results from seven leading universities, including Tsinghua University and Peking University, as well as more than 10 research institutes such as the National Data Development Research Institute and the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology.
It will include four ecosystem conferences focused on AI sub-sectors, organized by China Telecom, China Unicom, China Mobile and Huawei. These sessions will bring together more than 400 upstream and downstream companies to explore collaboration and development opportunities.
This year’s summit will establish an “industrial matchmaking platform” to directly connect innovations with market demand.
The summit is jointly organized by the National Development and Reform Commission, NDA, ACC, MITI and the Fujian Provincial People’s Government. It will feature more than 50 dialogue and exchange sessions, a digital China innovation competition and an on-site experience zone, while more than 100 special events will be held in parallel.
