More than 185 million people in China directly benefited from a massive water project that pumped water from the water-rich south to the drought-prone north during the last decade, authorities announced Thursday.
The South to North Water Conveyance Project has diverted more than 76.7 billion cubic meters of water to the northern regions through its middle and eastern routes.
