Yesterday, the 2025 on-site promotion meeting for key projects in the construction of key functional areas in Fengtai District was held at the construction site of the new National Museum of Nature Museum located in the south central axis area. A Beijing Youth Daily reporter learned from the meeting that this year Fengtai District will launch 154 major projects around the eight major industry-city integration ecosystems, with a total investment of 225.4 billion yuan. Fengtai District will be driven by key projects in the construction of key functional areas, develop the city with industry, and gather industry with the city. It will focus on “creating the environment and shaping strong functions” to create a “safe city and quality life” and improve the quality of the city’s energy level.
According to reports, the eight major industry-city integration ecosystem construction projects announced at this promotion meeting in 2025 are centered on four major functional areas and four major functional groups. Among them, the South Central Axis area, Xishan Yongding River Cultural Essence Area, Lize Financial and Business District, and Zhongguancun Fengtai Park will form four key functional areas; Hexi area, Beijing Fengtai Station area, Wulidian area, and Xinfadi area will form Four functional groups.
“Fengtai District uses a systematic concept to scientifically lay out production space, living space, and ecological space throughout the region, enhance urban functions, fully enhance comprehensive carrying capacity, promote job-housing balance, and build a new pattern of ‘multi-level linkage’ integrated development of industry and city.” Promotion meeting At the meeting, Chu Junwei, the head of Fengtai District, said that the eight major industry-city integration ecosystems will build a spatial layout that “integrates regional functions, integrates surrounding functions, and integrates functions across the entire region.”

Zhang Xiaodong, director of the South Central Axis Area Management Committee, introduced that the construction of the new National Museum of Natural History, a key project in 2025, has begun, and the capital planning exhibition hall project is fully advanced; the country’s first and largest offline “JD Life Port” will be unveiled within the year; Dahong The renovation and improvement project of the Gate Science and Technology Cultural Area will start within the year. Once completed, it will comprehensively enhance the landscape image of the South Central Axis Gate.
In addition, there are many major cultural facilities located on the south central axis. The initial intention of the National Museum Cultural Park project is to locate cultural facilities in the Nanyuan Forest Wetland Park area, with a planned land area of approximately 184,300 square meters. The preliminary intention of the China Geological Museum is to locate the cultural facilities on the south side of the first phase of the museum complex. At present, Fengtai District is actively carrying out site selection work with various entities to promote the continuous landing of cultural expo functions in the south central axis area.
Among the most anticipated projects in Lize Financial Business District in 2025, “Sky Mirror” is undoubtedly worthy of attention. This project is located in the Ping An Happiness Center in Lize South District. It is planned to set up a viewing platform with a diameter of about 18 meters on the roof and apron area of the building to create an immersive experience suspended at high altitude. At the same time, it will also be combined with public spaces such as sunken courtyards and rooftop terrace gardens to create a rich place experience and form a comprehensive space integrating culture, social interaction, leisure and commerce, forming a new landmark for Fengtai and even Beijing.
In addition, Lize City Sports and Leisure Park will build a large-scale park supporting service facilities with a total construction area of 6,767 square meters this year, including basketball courts, service centers, art experience painting, badminton halls, educational activity halls, book bars and other functional areas. The project is expected to commence construction in March this year.
In the future, the Xinfadi area will be “transformed” into a leading area for happy and livable life in the south of the city. Zhang Gengzheng, executive commander of the Xinfadi Transformation and Upgrading Headquarters, introduced that as a key project of the Xinfadi Capital High-quality Life Guarantee Group, the Xinfadi Market Vegetable Comprehensive Trading Building is expected to resume construction within this year; the Youth Hostel Xinfadi Township Creation Hall The project will also be officially opened in May this year, transforming from the original employee dormitory into a vibrant and creative rural innovation industrial park.
This year, there will also be “big moves” in the Xishan Yongding River Cultural Essence Area. According to Shi Wenbin, executive deputy commander of the Xishan Yongding River Cultural Essence District Construction Headquarters, in the near future, the Yongding River Cultural Essence District will be centered on the Marco Polo Bridge Cultural Park, focusing on the construction of the core area of the Anti-Japanese War themed area and the “Wanping Museum City” to enrich citizens cultural life of the masses.
