The two sides should seize opportunities to make new progress in win-win cooperation, Xi noted, adding that China is willing to work with the Cambodian side to continuously enrich the “Diamond Hexagon” cooperation framework and promote the effective implementation of key cooperation projects.
In an international context marked by instability, changes and various global challenges, China will continue to support Cambodia to play a greater role in international and regional affairs and help strengthen the power of the Global South, he said. Xi said.
He expressed China’s support for ASEAN to maintain its strategic autonomy and opposition to external forces introducing the Cold War mentality into the region. China is ready to work with Cambodia with firm determination to strengthen collaboration and coordination and jointly address various risks, he added.
Stressing that Cambodia-China friendship has stood the test of time and history, Hun Sen for his part expressed Cambodia’s gratitude to China for its invaluable support and assistance in political, economic and social security of Cambodia over the years.
He said China is Cambodia’s most reliable friend. Friendship with China constitutes a consensus within the CPP, and this fact will never change through generational transitions of Cambodia’s leadership, he added.
According to him, Cambodia is willing to comprehensively strengthen party-to-party exchanges with China, deepen political mutual trust, promote pragmatic cooperation in various fields, intensify cultural and youth exchanges, and strengthen cooperation. coordination and cooperation with China in international and regional affairs.
